11. TestOut signals

The VLDB+ features two CCH-J-04 bullseye connectors (not included in the kit). These connectors are dedicated to the TestOutputs and they are used for testing purposes.

The first one (J10), features the 4 single-ended lpGBT’s TestOut signals. The second one (J11) features the 2 differential lpGBT’s TestOut4 and TestOut5 output signals.

We do not provide the CCH-J-04 bullseye (and the necessary cables) but it can be simply bought through Samtec, here for the connectors and here for the cables (15 cm length, female SMA). It is not needed to buy the connector to probe those signals (placing a probe tip on the pad is enough). However, the connector and the cables offer a more comfortable and reliable way to analyse those signals on the oscilloscope.
